The malicious queen of Snow White’s tale would be very proud of me, because for a few weeks my fruit basket is always full of tasty red apples. Since I already have my Prince Charming, the only things I miss are the Seven Dwarfs… I will work on it. Meanwhile, I’ve used my apples to make an “apple butter”, which turned out to be scrumptious, especially if eaten with a little bit of cinnamon or to accompany a cake. Once made, keep it in the refrigerator for a few days without any problems.
Ingredients:
4 red apples • 3 plentiful tablespoons of brown sugar • 60 gr. of butter • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- Wash, peel and core the apples;
- Cut into pieces (not too big), then put them in a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients;
- Cook over low heat about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally;
- Put the apples in a blender and grind them until you obtain the texture of a heavy cream;
- Put apple butter in a pot, let it cool down before using it, or store it in the refrigerator.
It’s Friday! How can I miss the opportunity of not being at Angi’s party?!? I hope to see you all there!
- Lavez, épluchez et épépinez les pommes ;
- Coupez-les en morceaux pas trop grands, puis mettez-les dans une casserole avec les autres ingrédients ;
- Laissez cuire à feu doux environ 25 minutes en remuant de temps en temps ;
- Mettez les pommes au mixer et réduisez-les en crème épaisse ;
Ingredienti:
4 mele rosse • 3 cucchiai colmi di zucchero di canna • 60 gr. di burro • 1 cucchiaino di succo di limone • 1 cucchiaino di cannella
- Lavate, sbucciate le mele e privatele del torsolo;
- Tagliatele poi a pezzi non troppo grandi, mettete in una casseruola con il resto degli altri ingredienti;
- Fate cuocere a fuoco basso per circa 25 minuti, mescolando di tanto in tanto;
- Mettete le mele in un frullatore e frullate fino a ridurre in una crema omogenea;
This looks so yummy, Margy! I really love a good apple butter and now you have inspired me to make some with all of the wonderful fall apples that surround me! Thanks for that! 😀
Thanks to you too Julianna for being here! Have a great Sunday!
C’est simple et si bon, Margherita 🙂
Merci Linda!
Sì, mi piace MOLTO ! Però non posso mangiarlo perchè il mio medico mi dica “always eat your fruit FRESH and without sweeteners !”. Sighh … Nonostante tutto quello, grazie Margherita ! 🙂
Facile facile e godurioso…. ah ma a me mica dura eh?
Really interesting recipe, I think I’ve never tried apple butter but it sounds scrumptious 🙂
Have a nice weekend!
It’s very simple… I felt a bit ridicoulous posting this recipe, but it’s really good and it can be used for a lot of recipes… Have a great Sunday you too, thanks a lot!
mamma che brava che sei!!!! complimenti!!! sinceri! ❤
Buon Weekend!
Simi
Cmq grazie mille e buon we anche a te!
Looks yum! And such a simple recipe 🙂
Thanks a lot!
looks delicious!
;))
Che idea meravigliosa… mi piace tantissimo! Grazie
Sereno week end
Manu
Ma grazie mille a te!
simple and delicious – i love it!
Thanks a lot!
hummm comme c’est bon
Yes, Malificent couldn’t be prouder! 😉
Ahahha Francesca, it sounds great!
yumm! I have a dwarf in my garden, but he doesn’t really do stuff 😦
This Apple Butter looks so good!
Are you sure? It might do things when you don’t see him ;))) Thanks a lot for stopping by, very much appreciated!
Well, I do find him at different places sometimes… ;D
Oh! Homemade apple butter must be delicious. Looks tasty! Love your opening references to Snow White, too. I think you would not have a hard time finding your dwarves among your blog devotees who love your cooking!
Lol Ngan, you’ve really made me laugh! Thanks a lot, I hope you’ll have a great Sunday!
This > pumpkin butter. Well done, lady.
Thanks a lot lady!
My husband is a HUGE fan of apple butter…he will be thankful for this! 🙂
I will be thankful to you if you’ll give it a try!
I didn’t make my own apple butter, I bought mine. Still was very good! 🙂 You weren’t serious about the seven dwarfs, are you? Maybe start with one or two, three at most :-).
I had a lot of apples as outcome of an apple picking… next time I’ll try to come back home with the 7 dwarfs!

lol, loved this post. I’m definitely going to try this
I can guarantee, you won’t have any regrets! Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Why on earth have I been spending a small fortune on apple butter from my local orchard when it is this simple to make? Thanks for opening my eyes…and teasing my taste buds with your delicious recipe and photos! 😀
Thanks a lot Nancy! I cannot guarantee you that mine will be as good as that one you buy from the local orchard, but it’s certainly easy to make…effortless I’d say! Thanks for being here, hop you’ll have a great Sunday!
Gorgeous romantic photos to match with a homemade treat made with lots of love. I love to add this to my morning oatmeal or on toast
Exactly Bam, that’s what one of the things I thought when I made it! How lovely to have you here!
How completely delicious Margy! I can imagine slathering this butter on some banana bread and going straight to foodie heaven 🙂 I love your beautiful photos that create such a cosy mood 🙂
What a lovely comment Naina! Thanks a lot, coming from you it means a lot to me!
Simple and delicious! Thank you for bringing and have a fabulous weekend Margy!
Thanks to you too Sue for coming here!
ooh this looks great, I think I could just eat it with a spoon!
I resisted just because I knew I had a cake waiting for it in the oven! Thanks for being here Michelle, hope you’ll have a great week!
Perfect timing for my visit here today. Just this morning I thought I must “do something” with all these apples. All the leaves have practically fallen from the tree but there are still wonderfully plump Jonathan apples waiting to be made into your apple butter. Beautiful post.
Thanks a lot! This is the best part of having a blog… sharing and making people to try your recipes!!! I really hope you’ll give it a try!
Sounds fantastic! And I love your wire basket!
Buono, buono, buono e ancora buonissimo! Che go.du.ria 🙂 Quanto mi piace passare qui, sempre ricette interessanti, mai banali, tanto ricercate e foto belle, rustiche come piacciono a me!
Marta
It’s funny; as much as I love apples, I never just pick one up and eat it. We have beautiful Colorado apples and I pack them for all the children but rarely eat one. I however love baking and cooking with them. This apple sauce is perfect to sample the seasonal goodies! Hope you’re well, my dear!
It’s mostly what happens to me. I always have apples at home, but I use them in some recipes…it’s funny, isn’t it? I’m doing quite well, thanks a lot for being here Nazneen!
Wonderful and beautiful photos! I eat apples almost every day, but never tried to make such butter; your pics are really inspiring, want to try it out! 🙂
Dio Marghe!
A presto!
I just adore apple butter, looks delicious!
Ne avevo diverse in casa, mi son divertita a provare!Grazie mille Simo, sei sempre gentilissima!

I have never heard of such a thing, but it indeed looks so scrumptious, esp. when I see your next post. I bet I will love this apple butter as much as Nutella, and eventually, put it on everything!!!!!
It could not be easier; I love love love this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us 😀
